Cracks and damaged joins
Show the full length of the crack or join and any nearby appliances or cabinetry. An assessment may need to consider support or movement as well as the visible damage before a repair is proposed.
Marks and surface damage

- A sharp close-up in natural light, with a coin or ruler beside the damage for scale.
- A wider photo of the full benchtop and the affected edge, sink or appliance.
- The stone brand, colour and material type if known.

Keep any loose fragments for the assessment. Avoid attempting a cosmetic fix before discussing the damage, as existing fillers or coatings may affect the proposed repair.

Will a repair be invisible?
