Marble islands, dining surfaces and vanity tops bring character to a space, but daily use can expose them to spills, abrasion and etching. Professionally applied protection film can help reduce selected surface damage on compatible stone. It is an option to discuss when planning a new installation or protecting an existing surface.

We assess the exact stone, its finish and condition, the intended use and the proposed film system. The appearance, edge treatment and care requirements should be agreed before you commit.

New benchtops & feature islands

Discuss film while choosing your stone so the finish, edge profile and installation sequence work together. Curves, joints, sinks and waterfall details affect how a film can be fitted and where its edges finish.

Existing marble & stone

Send clear photos of the whole surface and any marks, chips or dull areas. Damage or uneven finishes may require restoration before a film can be applied. Covering a surface does not repair the stone beneath it.

Know what you are choosing

Protection with realistic expectations.

Film performance depends on the chosen system and correct care. It can help with everyday surface wear and exposure, but the benchtop still needs chopping boards, trivets and prompt spill clean-up. Avoid placing hot cookware directly on a protected surface.

Ask to view a physical sample on a comparable finish. Gloss, reflection, texture and visible edges can change when a film is applied. Any product-specific heat limits, cleaning instructions and warranty terms should be supplied with the quote.

Protection-film questions.

Is film the same as stone sealing?

No. Film forms a layer over the surface. A stone sealer is a different treatment, generally intended to reduce liquid absorption in suitable porous stone. The right approach depends on the material and the protection required.

Can film be installed on every benchtop?

Suitability is assessed individually. Textured finishes, damaged stone, complex edges and some coatings can affect adhesion and the final appearance. We confirm the proposed system against your actual surface.

How long will the film last?

Service life varies with the film system, installation, cleaning and use. We confirm the selected product’s maintenance and warranty information rather than promise one lifespan for every project.

Can the film be removed or replaced?

Removal and replacement depend on the product and underlying surface. Ask about the recommended process before installation; do not peel or scrape a film without the installer’s advice.

What information do you need for a quote?

Send your suburb, photos, approximate lengths and depths, the stone name if known, its finish and any damage. Include sinks, curves, joints and waterfall ends, and tell us whether this is a new or existing benchtop.
