Start with the route to the kitchen
The size of a kitchen island does not tell you whether a finished piece will reach the room. Check the loading area, entrance, corridor turns, lift door, lift interior and apartment doorway. Photos help, but the handling plan may also require dimensions. Include the floor level and whether any part of the route uses stairs.
Ask the building manager about arrangements
Confirm the requirements that apply to your own building: delivery windows, loading access, goods-lift bookings and protection of common areas may need coordination. Share the relevant instructions when planning the job. Do not book several trades into a restricted working window before the stone installation arrangements are confirmed.
Resolve joins before fabrication
Access can influence the size of finished sections and therefore the location of joins. Consider this alongside the slab pattern, sink, cooktop and cabinet support. A long one-piece run may need a revised layout. Review the proposed detail before fabrication instead of leaving access to delivery day.
Sequence removal and reconnection
Agree who removes the existing top, checks the cabinet levels and disconnects or reconnects fittings. Plumbing and electrical work need the relevant trades. Explain whether the sink, cooktop or splashback will stay and photograph the existing junctions. This keeps the stone quote aligned with the work actually needed.
Prepare a useful initial enquiry
Send the suburb, floor level, room photos, a rough plan and any building instructions you already have. You can start before every detail is known.
