Tell us the job you need first
For a standard sink, cooktop or tap-hole enquiry, start with photos, your suburb and a short description. You do not need to collect every measurement before making contact. Tell us whether it is an alteration to an existing benchtop or part of a new installation. Include the appliance or fitting model if you already have it.
Match the cutout to the actual fitting
Final cutting uses the manufacturer information for the selected model, not a generic size from memory. Two fittings described as the same nominal size can have different openings, corner shapes or clearance requirements. For a new benchtop, confirm the fitting models before fabrication. For an existing top, the stone and surrounding openings also need assessment.
Agree the sink mounting detail
An undermount and a top-mount sink require different stone details. Discuss the visible rim, support, tap position and the distance to cabinet and wall junctions. Confirm who supplies and installs the sink. A replacement sink may not suit the existing opening, so include photographs of the current arrangement with your enquiry.
Coordinate the cooktop and cabinet space
The opening is only one part of the cooktop arrangement. Follow the appliance installation instructions for clearances, cabinet space and any ventilation requirements. Confirm any electrical or gas work with the relevant licensed trade. Stone cutting does not include those connections unless they are specifically arranged within the agreed scope.
Check tap positions before cutting
A tap hole needs to work with the sink bowl, splashback and space below the top. Include the number of fittings and their intended positions. Existing stone alterations require material and condition checks before work is agreed.
